A new car?

Binyam was in a car accident Monday night. It was bad enough to total the car but not bad enough to cause any damage to Binyam. Thanks be to God!!!!!!!! He was driving the "work" car, our 1998 Ford Ranger. That Ranger served a great purpose in its day. We have done a lot of moving around the past two years and that truck was there for us. Ah well. So are we getting a new car? That's a good question. I was talking to my sister a few days ago and telling her about the car we bought last year, a 1991 Toyota Corolla wagon. When I said 1991, my sister said, "oh so its 17 years old." Seventeen years old. Had I not stopped to think about that before? That's a freakin' old car!!!!!! I can't believe we paid money for a car that old. We were in the throngs of the Dave Ramsey debt diet and decided to avoid debt and buy a car we could afford to plunk down money for. We did have to use credit for three months but its ours now. So we set up some criteria knowing that we would get an older car. It had to be a Toyota. Urban Legend has it that those things just fall off the road after years of dedicated service. And, it had to have low mileage. This 1991 car only had 89,000 miles. That's a little more than five thousand miles a year. It was unbelievable actually. It was the only car we looked at and a good deal so we got it. I am sooooo hoping that when the time comes to replace this ranger it will be another easy process. Well, the Toyota is a bit small, that's its only downfall. When Binyam's brother came Binyam mostly sat in the trunk area because there was no room elsewhere. So, there maybe need for a bit of a bigger car, but we'll see.
